Every time I travel back home,
I can feel that a part of me faded away day by day.
My education and experience abroad seems so surreal,
that it only exists in another earth, carries on by another Irene.

coo coo coo

There is a tale of The Ugly Duckling, and there is a fact that a pigeon will never become a dove.
In fact, it is damn hard to fly faithfully like a carrier pigeon.

I am so ON FIRE --------------- :::::::::::::::::: }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

What an emotional concert with Alicia Keys!! (she's in excellent condition tonight)
Your tunes give me so much strength to go through ups and downs in my lonely days.
I love your passion for life and love for humanity. And of course all that grooving you make!!!

iTMOi & in the mind of Akram Khan

iTMOi
(in the mind of igor)
By Akram Khan company
inspired by Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring) composed by Igor Stravinsky
At Sadler's Wells Theatre

iTMOi is shockingly epic.  The way Akram Khan challenges his audience is like what Igor Stravinsky did to his audience.  In Khan's perspective- the essence of the rite of spring was about ritual, energy, pattern, and sacrifice. These are the elements of creating mind blowing (or confusing) moment/event. No masterpiece could have been accomplished without any of the element mentioned.  For me, it was like watching a painful process of reaching a particular destination- death, perhaps.  There were times when I almost closed my eyes (the music was great, it was dark, and the movements were very subtle...) Literally I was struggling as well.  However, the tiredness stimulated my senses in a different way. While I was in a state of delirium, I felt like the whole show was working in my brain like black ink dilutes in the water. When the piece reaches its climax, that was when the broken thread links up in my head and all the senses came back alive again.  How thrilling it felt!  Still, there were many vague notions and emotion that I couldn't quite explain, but I rather leave it to the image above (created by liiah).
